What a week..

30 05 2008

The week isn’t over yet, but it’s been a busy one for the most part.

Work has been hectic as long over due jobs were finally put to pasture. We’ve finally cleared most of our backlog out and I can again breathe.

Well, it isn’t all that bad since my boss (Ah B) is not crazy and demanding. He is a tad tardy and we are both probably a bit sloppy with some of our editting but it is all a learning experience. Anyway, I had spent the week rushing around thinking all these things were really urgent and had to be done ASAP. However, Ah B just seemed to just mosey around and chillax while I’m busting my nuts trying to get things done. Clearly I over estimated their urgency, or maybe I underestimated what work is actually expected of me.

Well today I think we finally sorted out the last one of the real pressing jobs and tomorrow I will be able to relax and enjoy my day a bit more. Thankfully the weekend is almost here.

I just want to sit back and unwind… but will Monday come and will I think, ‘boy I wasted that time’?

On a good note, my hiking boots arrived.

I am now the proud owner of a pair of Scarpa SL M3 boots! I tossed and turned over my decision but these boots just edged out the Asolo TPS 520/535 boots. I must say the Asolo boots are really nice too. Really comfortable straight out of the box! These Scarpa’s are nice, but a lot stiffer. My feet won’t be thanking me during the break-in period.

Cheazles will have her boots very soon too as Amph has purchased on our behalf a pair of Raichle Mt Trail GTX boots and he and the boots will be back in town tomorrow night! WB AMPH!

Over already?!

NOooooo… why has the weekend gone so quickly?!

I could do with another couple of days of rest and relaxation. However, maybe I should be more productive with my Saturdays. I seem to be just lazying about on Sats. I shall endeavour to get more out of my Saturdays as currently it feels like a bit of a wasted day. I need to maximise the little time off I have!

I guess it really is the perfect opportunity to get back to training. I keep contemplating maybe rock climbing, but I’m a wuss with heights plus there is a bazillion other things I want to do! I really do need to get more active though. I know I keep saying it and harping on about it.. I think as soon as my time frees up after this semester I really should be able to get a good routine going. Maybe something like Systema Wednesdays and something else Sats and the 1k step on Sundays. I do need to get in some running during the week too, but I don’t know if I am ready to run in my orthotics.

I was a tad naughty today and wore my orthotics the whole day out and did heavy lifting whilst helping Cheazles’ uncle move house and now my knees are aching. Not good.

Anyway… the weekend is over, I have to acknowledge I have yet again wasted it a little and now I have a 6:20am wake up tomorrow as the work grind begins again. Time for bed me thinks…

Peace and quiet..

22 05 2008

I think I’m enjoying the lull before the storm. Things are still fairly constant at work, but exams are on the horizon.

With the hecticness of the last few weeks, it has been a nice change to be able to sit back and relax. I cannot wait until this semester is over. I am totally CBF’d about uni now. The end is near… finally.

Anyway, beyond that I thought I’d just post some pointless stuff to entertain myself and others.

Exhibit A: This was sent to me from N the Pirate. Highly entertaining.

Exhibit B: This one is not amusing, but it is entertaining for me and others who like the sweet science. Here is a real fighter who looks like he may be quite promising

Exhibit C: I cannot find the place I downloaded this photo but it is one of many which are keeping me excited about my end of year trip. Although this photo from memory may not be from the Himalayas.

Enough time wasting… bed time now

Oh and I’d just like to finish by saying… GO LAKERS!!! WOOT!! KB24 is MVP and we are gunning for the championship!

2 Weeks in..

15 05 2008

Well, just reporting back 2 weeks into engaged life.

Things have been… not a lot different. LoL

There have been more discussions about weddings and the like, but other than that life has been very hectic. Too hectic in fact for anything else to really be changed up.

I am however still accruing my gear for the end of the year and am looking forward to putting it to use later this year with a few camping trips with Rubes. Should be good fun. We do need to get our mitts onto another tent though so we can bring a few other people along.

The exercise regime however has suffered in the last few weeks due to me being so busy, but hopefully after this weekend I should have a bit more sparetime and I can get right back to becoming trim and terrific. As mother said, ‘you don’t want to be a fat groom’.

Because she said ‘yes’..

1 05 2008

Well people, if a moron like me can land a fiance (or as I like to say, a ‘finance’) then there is hope for all… even you Tams!! LOL… (YOU STARTED THIS!)

Anyways, so I asked and fortunately she said yes and thus now I have delivered to her father, 3 cows, a goat and 2 chickens. Not an inconsiderable sum! I bargained hard, but her old man was adamant that he indeed required a goat. In return I now have my lovely Cheazles forever and ever… and I can now brand her with this new monogram branding iron I picked up! Branding Irons! Fun for all the family!

Hazzah to Branding Irons! Hazzah to Goats! and a grand HAZZAH to my beloved Cheazles! .. because she did say ‘yes’..
