One week down..

24 11 2007

.. and the rest of my life to go.

So I survived the first week, in-fact it was not particularly different from earlier in the year. The people make it entertaining and the work makes it interesting enough that I have not found the week to be a struggle at all.

Also only after a week of work I got a free meal/work dinner last night. It was a good night and the food although it took a very long time to arrive was great. The duck special that many of the guys had looked awesome, whilst the risotto I had was very, very nice. Beyond the food, there were thought provoking conversations to be had with my highly inebriated colleagues at dinner last night, talk of prostate exams and the dismal Mo’s on a few of the boys which deteriorated into how someones sister had a better mo than he did, which ended up in someones mo matching someones mother’s mo, which was not on her upper lip… and was capped off with the poor showing of our absolutely wasted secretary. All in all, it was a highly entertaining night however.

Now that it is the weekend though, I feel as though perhaps I should be doing something to make the most of the time. The rest and sleep though will keep me in good stead for the following week where inevitably I will not sleep at a decent hour and feel buggered early on in the week.

Maybe I should go have a nanna nap and store up some more sleep.

A Long Few Weeks..

12 11 2007

So, the last few weeks have been trying and frankly rather exhausting.

Coping with gramps, exams, scholarship and work/career have made things, as BatLeb would put it, rather “hectic”.

Having had most of it settled a week ago allowed me to spend a few days unwinding. Then things got a little busier again with taxi-ing to and from the airport, the Justin Timberlake concert and then a quick road trip interstate where we finally put gramps to rest on Friday placing his urn next to granny in the temple. Flying back on Saturday morning, I made another trip back to the airport Saturday night to pick up the old man, and again I have to go back tomorrow to pick up the old lady. I should seriously get my own parking bay at the airport soon.

Anywhos, so my grand plan for some exercise has unfortunately been foiled by my busy schedule and to make things worse my cousins ply-ed me heavily with food.

This week is likely to see me back to work for the start of the end… the end of my uni bludging days. As eluded to by the aptly titled final episode of Startrek: The Next Generation states; ‘all good things’… must come to an end.

Woot!

Finally I’ve won something! Yay!

and on top of that… I got the gig in valuations which I was after!

So today has been a great day for me and I shall endeavour to enjoy the weeks of holidays before being back full time.

Anywhos, maybe this is a good opportunity for me to try and get back into training and some sort of routine…

… maybe…

or maybe I’ll sit back and enjoy me some sleeping and ice cream… Mmmm… ice cream…

From a totally awesome-ness factor I thought I should post this clip for all to enjoy too.
