And the time is drawing closer..

29 05 2007

It is almost time for Rubinho to take his leave of us, and so we had the Red Party over the weekend at his place. Now, the highlight of the night was the frankfurts.. party franks are the way to go! They go with everything including vodka jelly shots! Also yet again, Rubinho was a bit of a sook! I believe the words were, “I’m going to cry, you guys better go now”!

So, we left and went to watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean. The movie was going along nicely until the film started melting on the projector and thus there was a segment of the movie missing. Fortunately we were given free tickets at the end of the screening to make up for this, so now we can go watch something else! Like the new Transformers movie!! We got to see the new trailer which was TOTALLY AWESOME!!

Anywhoz, it is coming up to exams next week and I still have an assignment due, so I should stop my rather pointless post.. actually, it isn’t all that pointless. I wanted to share this little gem that Tam forwarded on to me…

Another week goes by..

20 05 2007

Life seems to just move on and on and there just never seems like there is enough time to do and enjoy all that you would like to. So many things I would like to see, do and learn. It is sad to know that I will never be able to experience everything I would like to in this life time. As I mentioned earlier this week to someone, wouldn’t it be ace to be able to just download new skills into your mind ala The Matrix. I guess that’d take away all the gratification of learning something on your own though. If only there were more hours in a day to spend on the little things that make life interesting. Instead our days are filled with going to work, organising finances and other assorted rubbish. Why can’t we go back to the days where the only thing to worry about was what flavour ice cream I was going to have, and whether or not I had woken up in time to watch my cartoons.. and FYI I missed the cartoons this weekend :(

Anywhoz… two weeks will see a change in Frutzieland.. it will be the farewell of Rubinho, who has become some what of a fixture in our lives over the last 11-12 years. The crazy guy is being shipped off to become a man in the armed forces. So we would all like to send him our best in this new phase of his life and hope that the time spent together over the years will lend him strength in some way to help over come all the new challenges he may face. Mate, you are a big retard.. but you are OUR retard… so don’t forget the door is open for you. (unless there is the do not disturb sign hung on the handle.. cos if the room is a rockin, don’t bother knockin’.. LOL)

So here are a few words of wisdom to take with you:

“It is your mind that creates this world” – Siddhartha Buddha

“If you are going through hell, keep going” – Winston Churchill

“If god didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?” – Homer J Simpson

“Wal-mart, what’s that? Do they, like, make walls there?” – Paris Hilton

And finally..

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” – Confucius

Hopefully that will be true of this move for you.

Another change in Frutzieland in two weeks will be the return of Immie!!!!!! YAY!!!! She ain’t as crazy as Rubinho, but she’s a heck of a lot easier on the eyes! hehehe.. (Yes Rubes, I just said you are ugly.. U. G. L. Y… you ain’t got no alibi) So welcome back Immie!! Another person I can annoy at lunch times!! YAY FOR IMMIE!

Oh.. and FINALLY.. yesterday, Cheazles‘ finally relented and admitted there was some sort of reduction in my gut size!! Some people are just so hard to please! If I didn’t know that I was like fully hot I might have some confidence issues.. hehehe.. At least my gut loves me unconditionally.. *pats my gut adoringly*

Rickrolled??

15 05 2007

Well, I apparently have been Rickrolled… for those who haven’t had the pleasure, please click on this link.

Is wrong of me to have enjoyed that?

Maybe this will help you recover from being Rickrolled…

Gotta love JCVD!!!

Evaluating..

13 05 2007

In an effort to have a more active life style for myself, I popped along to check out a few new activities which I may take on board.

So on Thursday I went along with Tams to Rubinho’s Brazilian Jiu Jutsu class (for more about BJJ) and met his coach Dave who was a very cool guy and the class seems cool and I am very tempted to start training there.

Saturday saw Tams and I catch up with my old buddy Chippa (below) and be initiated to the world of Parkour.

We did a few drills, like vaults over little walls, rolling and cat leaping across gaps onto walls. I must say, Tams did brilliantly well whilst I was a big neurotic noob.. thought about things too much and didn’t let myself go. It was a good experience though and I’m looking forward to increasing my knowledge of things there too.

So decisions, decisions… what will I pick up as my new thing?

I’m thinking maybe I’ll get away with being greedy and do BJJ as my regular and still spend some time building up some Parkour basics. I don’t envisage myself ever being a hardcore traceur (exponent of parkour) since I can’t see myself climbing buildings and doing the large drops, but the basics and knowledge would be invaluable information.

An enjoyable weekend..

8 05 2007

Well, the weekend just gone by turned out to be rather entertaining.

Started out with a lovely dinner on Friday celebrating Cheazles’ birthday with her family. We went to the local greek restaurant and since we had intended to pay for dinner it was left to me to order for everyone… which means I tend to order Frutzie sized portions for all.. thus when the three platters of food arrived along with the assorted tidbits, the food situation looked a little ominous. However, it ended up being pretty much all polished off. I did feel a little bad when Cheazles’ parents paid for the meal instead though!

Anywhos, the following day saw a quiet morning and afternoon lazying around at home followed by a visit by Tams for some coffee and a yarn. That then lead to dinner and a trip to the movies with Tams, Amph and Cheazles to watch Spiderman 3. I must say, the movie was not particularly fantastic however the Emo Spiderman portayed by Toby Maguire was quite entertaining and there were quite a few comedic moments throughout the movie. The lack of any sort of story/character development was what made the movie a bit rubbish. Still, it was entertaining nonetheless.

Sunday was the final celebration of Cheazles’ birthday which spanned over several days. The day started with our morning walk up the 1000 steps followed by lunch! Lunch was quite lovely! The little tasting platter was fantastic I thought, and the lovely Rabbit Rissotto was quite nice. After lunch, we headed over to Aids’ to play RAMPAGE on the wii!!

This game is gold and has definately prompted me to start hassling Cheazles to buy a wii!

I could play this for hours on end! RAWR!!!! Go go Ralph and Plucky!

The weekend also saw the most highly anticipated boxing fight in the last 5 years!

DLHPBF

Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Jnr!

Having watched all 12 rounds, the fight did not let down fight fans! Now it was a very close fight and a draw to many would have been seen as the best result, however although there are many who felt the Golden Boy got robbed, Pretty Boy Floyd probably did just enough to sneak the victory.

Still, regardless of the outcome it was a good fight to watch and both fighters did very well.
