Awesomes..

So, I went to the U2 concert… and it was totally awesome. I don’t think any description I could give would do it justice… but for a indepth ramble regarding how uber cool the concert was, just wander over to Rubinho’s blog (The Lil Wuss cried.. hehe.. ok I admit, Bono and the boys really know how to drive the emotion of a song into you). Anywhoz, the concert was very cool indeed and I am glad to have been able to see such an iconic band play. Now, not so awesome was Kanye… but I feel that it is more that this clearly was not his crowd: they were not there to see him or appreciate his style of music. I felt sorry for him because there was no way he was going to win over the crowd, but good on him for keeping his energy up and trying to keep things going. I must say I actually didn’t mind his music and if it were his own concert, he would be a pretty good act to see. Plus he also sings about more interesting topics than the usual typical hip hop songs.

Now another awesome thing I’ve seen recently is the Borat movie. Now the movie will definately not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it is very funny and slightly disgusting at times. Sacha Baron Cohen is a legend and makes very interesting social commentary.

The last awesome item is related to the Borat movie… and that is Borat’s swimming costume. As shown below, it is most definately TOTALLY AWESOME!

How could I forget… one more awesome thing… Mayweather vs De La Hoya has been announced for May of next year!

Wasting time..

Well, I am studying for my 3rd exam which is infact tomorrow… but in the case that there are others like me who enjoy wasting time instead of studying… here is a fantastic video (a whole series infact) which provides answers to many questions that I know many of us may have wondered about… specifically relating to blenders…

Speed and Skill FTW!

Well, besides studying for my stupid exams my interest today was taken up by the Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather Jnr Vs Carlos “Tata” Baldomir fight.

The reputed pound 4 pound king Pretty Boy Floyd won on unanimous decision to become the WBC Welterweight Champion. Unfortunately I was stuck studying for exams instead of trying to find a place to watch the fight, but from all accounts and the judges scoring the fight, PBF took each round quite convincingly. What had me interested in the fight was the difference of the competitors; with PBF the smaller faster fighter and Baldomir the larger fighter. It does sound like PBF had a bit too much speed for Baldomir to handle and was tagged repeatedly and even got cut.

It would have been interesting to see if PBF could infact knockout Baldomir if given more rounds, but I guess rules are rules and given those rules, PBF was smart and played within them. PBF reported that he hurt his hand too, so maybe that is why he didn’t try for a KO. In anycase, sounds like it will be an interesting fight to watch when I can get my hands on it.

Anyways, congrats to Mayweather. I wonder who he’ll go up against next… sounds like it may be Oscar De La Hoya, for the big pay cheque!! That’ll be an interesting fight… I’d also like to see maybe Antonio Margarito!
